In many places there are older, worn-out pools or paddling pools that can be reused. A quick and smart shortcut is to build on the old.
We did this in Örebro City Park, because their facility was worn out and not working as it should. Some parts of the old facility were reused, but most of it was removed and replaced with new elements – new water features, a new control system and a new coating. The coating is steel-polished concrete, which provides a non-slip and durable surface for this type of water play.

The new park has been a great success in every way. There are more people than ever before and they stay much longer than before. The water facility in this part of the park now acts as a magnet and is a focal point for children, young people and adults. Families meet here with blankets and food baskets and spend hours, because even the smallest children can play freely in the water without risk of injury. There is no standing water in the facility.
The water doesn’t spray out all the time. Nothing happens unless someone activates the tools. With a touch on a sensor placed on a pole, one of the pre-programmed sequences starts. Then water is sent to the first tool and then to the next and the next. After a while, the water stops again and a new activation has to be done. By blocking the water with the feet of a pair of “ground sprayers”, more water comes out somewhere else. In this way, everyone is activated for hours, the children play and laugh and everyone is happy.

The facility in Örebro Stadspark clearly shows that because Vortex equipment and colors can be adjusted and combined endlessly, the facility can fit in anywhere. It never interferes but blends into the surroundings.
